What Will You Discover?
Family Ties Ancestry was established by Mary Kate Cahill in 2018. Hailing from North Wexford near Gorey town, an area very rich in history, Mary Kate’s background is in legal research for which she has spent over 17 years working in the US before returning to Ireland in 2003. During this time, she gained a comprehensive understanding of litigation skills, court procedures, precedents and government regulations.
Mary Kate has a personal interest in genealogy having commenced researching her own family history in 2013 and since that time has found relatives living in the UK, the US and Australia. She completed a Diploma in Genealogy and Family History in University College Cork in 2017 [and is currently seeking affiliate status with the Affiliate Genealogists Ireland].
She has the unique ability to converse with overseas clients as she has lived abroad for seventeen years – this has equipped her with a better appreciation of diverse cultures and in tailoring her research skills to meet each client’s individual needs.
Services Provided by Family Ties Ancestry
Mary Kate can construct a genealogical background of an individual or of a family in order to establish descent from a specific ancestor or to discover and identify forebears of an individual or family. She will consult local, national and international genealogical sources in order to trace family lines. She can prepare a history for family in narrative form or write a brief sketch emphasizing points of interest in family background, and can construct a chart showing lines of descent and family relationships.
Should you commission Family Ties Ancestry to undertake research on your behalf, the work will be carried out fully in accordance with a code of professional practice.
